Default Wahhhh my baby died on me

Wahhhh, my S wouldn't start for me yesterday, so I had to use the battery charger to start it and take her in for a new battery. This is a milestone in my ownership: my first replacement part. Wahhhhhh -- she's not completely original any more. I'm so sad. Should I start looking for a new car????? I'd appreciate your vote.

Suck it up ya crybaby. I replaced my battery a month or two after I bought my (new) car with a Hawker.

Val... My heart goes out to you Our babies are just that: "Our Babies". On the lighter side, since your "S" is no longer a Virgin I suggest you go "S" shopping (but I warn you... never, never, never talk about trading your car in... in-front of it!)
While I have only had an '04 and '05 "S", I am not familiar with having to drive with the higher revs that the earlier models required prior to the change. But I will tell you that the thrills don't get any better
Kyras should be able to give you a good idea of the differences in drive-ability between the early models such as yours, and the '05, or '06 if you go for it (that new blue is gorgeous!)!!
I've bawled like a baby each time I've traded in my last 4 cars... maybe I'm nuts, but I really "bond" with my cars.
Who knows... you may just be about to turn a new corner in your life!
Hugs,
Helen

Keep it. Of course, when it comes to batteries, there are positives and negatives. I'm sure you'll make the right chioce.

Darlene,

I wonder if this means that you still have the original air in the original S-02's as well? I think that I know better.

That bring up a good question. As the OEM battery is not exactly hefty, how long is it expected to last? Especially for cars that are "Garage Queens" during the winter months how many people hook up a trickle charger?

When the time comes to replace it what are people replacing it with?

Inquiring minds (that don't read the Inquirer) want to know.
