There is an interesting Op-Ed piece in today's NY Times. It contends that the Democrats have lost touch with middle America and as such have all but given their vote to the Republican Party. The irony is that the Republican party has been successful in convincing them that the Democratic Party is not the party for them (Middle America) and have gotten them to vote against their own interests (ie:tax cuts for the upper class).
