The election is over. I fear for the next 4 years.
Welcome to my 1996.

I find it highly unlikely that the republic will fall apart in the span of four years. That's what I kept telling myself in 1996 and it proved correct. So take heart...everything will be ok.

Right with you, Rob.

I blame it all on Bill Clinton; his indiscretions in the White House continue to make most of America afraid to trust a Democrat.

That said, what, Mrs. Clinton in 2008?

I am indeed afraid for our country, Rob.
I've never gotten the sense that Clinton's behavior played a role in this election. The feeling that I get around here is that many folks weren't comfortable with changing presidents in the middle of a war.
Is it too early to get my four year supply of, "Don't blame me, I didn't vote for him" bumper stickers?

Dean.

No, the republic will not fall apart, but there will be a continuation of policies and direction put into place by the Bush administration. That is bad enough.

I fear for our nation.

I don't know, Dean. NPR says that exit polls in the central states indicated "Moral Values" outplayed Iraq as the number one deciding factor.

I think this is slick willy's legacy.

^That's interesting, I don't recall that issue ever coming up during the campaign. Whatever the reasons, I don't think that things bode well for us. I haven't been this distrustful of an administration since the Nixon admin..

A beautiful country but another four years a , , , , , president.
Urs,

A lot of us share the global disappointment in the probable election results. Please tell my other new Swiss friends that only 48% of US voters are ready to revert to the old days of the Pioneer West. Fear has won over hope. God help all of us.

My invitation to return your Swiss hospitality stands firm....that June drive in the highlands of Switzerland remains a very pleasant memory. VTEC + Alps = Perfect together

I'm very happy with our elections results. Especially with the Senate and House gains. I'm looking forward to 4 years of Conservative leadership righting the wrongs cast upon our country by generations of Liberal legislative control.

Bad guys of the world beware. I think we'll see a bit of political realignment within our past and present allies as well.

My futures so bright I gotta wear shades.
