Here's hoping the media manages some self-control and doesn't call races at 6:45pm EST.
Predictions, projections, guessing is counter productive while people are still voting.

Completely agree, Zip.
Everyone get out there and vote for your candidate!
After this is done, I want to start a thread to debate the Electoral College. All I'll say now is that if this election turns on electoral votes, there could be riots.

Voted at 4:15PM CST and the polls, while somewhat busy with all but two voting stations in use, were orderly and there was no wait. It looks like our precinct will have a record turnout.
BTW have you seen Google's logo for today?

Cute and amusing in a way... so far as I know there is no jurisdiction where you vote by 'check mark'. All I know of are fill in bubbles, connect arrows or "X"s.

I think it works better than trying to depict a dangling chad...
Speaking of which, I ran my fingers over the back of the ballot (punch type) when I was done and found a few of those suckers clinging. I promptly ripped them off and made sure my ballot was squeaky clean.
What I found to be interesting is that once I was handed my ballot, I was the only person to touch it; instead of depositing it into a ballot box like previous elections I was directed to feed it in to the electronic ballot counter where it was retained inside the machine.

No..the election will turn on the armies of lawyers retained by both sides to litigate the will of the people. I'm hoping for both a white Christmas and, possibly, a President.

The polls have started to close and already CNN is calling some states. I thought that they were going to wait until 10:00 PM EST.
