ID - definitely! Do you know how easy it would be for me to obtain SSNs of the recently deceased locally and put in my vote at each of their precincts without ID? How can you not require ID at the polling place (and I agree - at ALL polling places)?

Its not that I wouldn't require IDs. Its just if you ask at one place, ask at all places, and make it clear in advance what form of ID you are asking for.

Thank God it's election day. Thank God it will soon be over. I am sick of hearing all the election crap, all the lies, all the negative ads. I am sick of all the harassing phone calls - we have a local person running who has been sending me literature almost every three days for weeks and then they called and left the same recorded message twice on Saturday and again on Sunday. This person did NOT get my vote for those reasons.

Still mostly undecided, I did my duty. I voted. Sadly I voted against one guy instead of for one guy. I voted by absent ballot, still wondering if I done the right thing. Then I watched Frontline last night - what a great insightfull show - and I know I voted the right way, so I quess I did vote for someone!

I know, and I didn't mean to imply otherwise. This particular case just happened to be plastered across the front page of the paper this morning.

Martha and I voted this morning, so now all we have to do is wait to see how things go.
While we were there, we saw three people make their selections on the touch screens then walk off before hitting the BIG red "vote" button at the top of the machine.

No harm done. People that dumb shouldn't be voting. Really, that's too bad but there's always been people who can't follow instructions and lose their vote.

I voted at 7:00 A.M. I am quite pleased to say that the polls were well organized and efficient. I had about a 10 minute wait. I was delighted. In previous years, I was the only voter there at 7:00 A.M.

Maybe with all of the nonsense involved in this election, something positive will come out of it. Maybe people will start to vote again.

We're going after work, hoping to hit a lull before the evening rush. I've finally decided, and I'm still not happy with my decision. I'll be taking a tack similar to the one that Dave took, voting more against certain specific principles of one candidate and not necessarily for the other.

I came across this article, and the associated website. The site predicts the Electoral Vote based upon a number of nationals poll results.
