Big differance! I was just noticing peoples lawns that they were showing. I'm glad you all finally got some rain, hopefully you'll keep getting some more, only a little at a time.

We have automatic sprinklers for our lawns. They are normally green year round.

A water restriction for most SoCal people means only washing your car once a week and watering your lawn every other day.

The 1st snow plow just went by. It sounds like it just got stuck on the ice.

Matt bought and installed a new battery for our snow plow yesterday. He will plow some of the neighbors driveways if he can.

Every thing is closed here including the govt.

Glad we have 17 suet cakes!

And here I thought you were going to say 17 inches of snow. What's on the ground?

Glad we're not seeing the snow that is coming up the east coast. Still, it was 5 degrees this AM, supposed to be below zero tomorrow. I'm sick of it!!

I think DC is going to end up with about 5". Not terrible. Supposed to end about 1 PM. Everything is shut down here, though.

I think a lot of people believe that California is called the Golden State because of the gold rush. The real reason is the golden (brown) hills the state has most of the time.

Sun came out, but it will be very cold tonight - 9 for a low. Brrrr...Warmup as the week goes on. Sat will be 52. Yay! Sunny tomorrow so maybe some of the snow will melt. All in all, not a bad storm for us.

We had about eight inches of (real, light fluffy) snow which is unusual for the DC Metro area. That is the good news. The bad news is that it started out as freezing rain (which is very usual for us). I need to get a set of snow chains for our 1977 Wheel Horse B-100. The old cable type chains have come apart over the years.

I am very HAPPY that I installed the snow blade this winter. The last big snow we had was fifteen inches of heavy wet snow (which is typical for this area). I have to state that I had more fun plowing than I would have had having a heart attack if I would have had to shovel this year.
