The Vintage Weather Thread

It's supposed to rain hard tonight and tomorrow morning in the LA area. It might be another weather forecasting hoax. It never rains in LA except during USC Notre Dame games in the Coliseum: last month and two other games recently. Oops, it's raining!

The rain hit today around 10:00. Mowed the lawn earlier this week knowing it was coming. Bush trim Sunday I think.
Rain at the Sierra elevations but will turn to snow later when the cold front moves though. Next week will be in the 50s and dry.
I enjoy having my morning cup of joe, reading the paper (yes a real paper) in the back yard watching the bumblebees and birds and noticing a big "L" (L for low pressure on map) over the midwest and east along with snow, sleet, frogs, and burning hail. I prefer the shake and bake of the west coast.

It's barely rained down here in my part of so Cal, yet. I'm hoping it gets heavy like the predictions.

Cleared 5-6" of snow off the driveway last night. Had another 6" in the driveway this morning. At least the commute was better. Too cold for the salt to work, so the roads were packed snow. There is no more snow falling and the winds have stopped, so visibility was fine. Still supposed to get another 2-3" today.
I'll take snow over earth quakes, forest fires, tornadoes, and hurricanes any day.
