1/2" of snow on the roads today. Joined a long line of traffic behind a guy doing 21 mph in a 55 mph zone.

Cold but no snow here. High of 32 today with wind chill in the 20s. Will get lots of rain this weekend as part of the Nor'easter.

Today our temperature reached 52 degrees. It's one of the few times the temp has exceeded freezing in the last month. We still have snow on the ground from nearly a month ago.

Very happy that I haven't had to clear the driveway of snow yet. Unheard of for mid-January! Still suffering from the winter blahs though. Gray gloomy skies for weeks on end suck.

This good run continues. It may have turned colder, but the precipitation has been mostly rain. what little snow we have had is easily dealt with. Tonight they are predicting rain again (at least in my part of new England).

I think we are expecting no precipitation today which will be nice I put my sneakers back on this morning. We are expecting some rain/snow tomorrow maybe 3 0r 4 inches. I have a feeling real winter is going to start within the next couple of weeks.

I always figure that Jan.15th is the 1/2 way mark for winter here.

Hi Levi,

Would you say that your winter is from about Oct 15 to Apr 15?

Has your winter been milder than usual so far this winter?

We lived in Ithaca from 1968 to 1974, and I imagine the climate in Ithaca is similar to yours. Is that right?

I can remember our first winter in Ithaca, quite a rude awakening for both of us having lived our entire lives up to that point in the San Francisco area.

I remember that we once took a picture of a Time and Temperature sign showing 22 degrees and we sent it to our relatives in California because it was so cold. Little did we realize that we were sometimes going to have temperatures in the minus 22 degree range in Ithaca!

Sue
