My wife and I have seen mosquitos and flies today in our backyard today, this is kind of crazy for February. I suspect a lot more bugs and rodents and wasps may have survived this winter when they typically die off.

Fortunately I reacted faster than they did and got away without being stung, or even chased. Killed the nest last night, very much hoping to see some frosty mornings soon.
During the summer of 2023 I got stung 14 times by angry wasps, and they were pissed off for sure. I unknowingly flipped over their nest that was at the bottom of a planter. They chased me for 50 yards. First time in my life that I got into a mess like that.

This weather is wacko. I have daffodils coming up and some are a good 4" out of the ground!

I'm afraid of the coming March weather. It's this kind of year that brings us late winter early spring big hairy wet snow monsters.
The 17 incher that they really didn't see coming.

We've been lucky so far but with Lake Erie not freezing over this year we could, at any time, get a whopper of a storm.

My son's allergies seem to be acting up this weekend, I'm thinking the unusual warm weather is the cause. This is the warmest February I have ever seen, with the most sunny days, it is usually the worst month of the year IMO.

I recall a particularly warm February day back when I was in school in '76.
It was in the mid-70's which I remember especially well because I was out playing soccer on the quad and jammed my shoulder colliding with another guy.
It was even very nice the nice day in the early morning, that is until a howling cold front swept through plunging temps like 50°s to sub freezing.

We have hosted several mid-Feb meets for the MG folks. Some times the weather was great on the Sat we selected. People outside kicking tires and the wife on the grill. What's crazy this year is how many days have been crazy warm.

I agree Dave, it just seems like so many warm and sunny days, we aren't that far away from each other so I think our winter has been somewhat similar this year. The extra sunny days just make it feel nice, today was a bit cool but full sun all day long made it seem warmer than it was. Very pleasant with no snow despite being below freezing. I snuck out a couple times with just a t-shirt on today, the cold eventually got to me but it didn't feel so bad.

I’m hearing birds chirping this morning it is cold here currently but we are expecting to get into the 50’s this week. It is currently seven degrees.
