Glendale, CA @ 0330. Hardest rain I've ever experienced in my life.

What a spectacle! Stood in the doorway and watched for about 1/2 hour.

^2-21-2024. The sun is going to shine today! I can see ships on the ocean at Newport Beach. I'll be driving up to Long Beach, CA to see a friend and have lunch. I forgot how it can stay cloudy here for weeks. It used to drive me crazy.

As bad as I hate cold winter weather, I still prefer living here rather than in locations that get heavy cloud cover, rain, and low sun hours. We have coastal areas in Canada that have much warmer temps but they don't get much of a summer, so I will keep the snow for now.

I like winter as it serves a very unique purpose. It kills all of the bugs.

Looking forward to colder weather more and more for that very reason. Yesterday after work I decided to do a bit more fencing and ran out of wire, so went to pick up another spool from beside the workshop. I had to move some wood out of the way (we try to remain disorganized at all times) and promptly stuck my hand knuckle-deep into a wasp nest. Fortunately I reacted faster than they did and got away without being stung, or even chased. Killed the nest last night, very much hoping to see some frosty mornings soon.

I view disorganization as a security measure. By god, I'll tell ya, if I can't find it, an intruder sure as hell won't! ( read that line with a slow Maine drawl for full effect)

We have heavy, heavy fog tonight. If it weren't for the landscaping lights you won't know there was a house across the street from me.
