83 degrees by 9am and still 94 at 5pm today. Wasn't a pleasant day for heavy outdoor work with no breeze.

7:25am and it's 81 degrees. Going to be another scorcher.

One thing about the heat in NZ, it can be deceptive. I've experienced 113 degrees in Australia and it certainly didn't feel any worse than 100 in NZ. I don't know why that is, maybe it's because we're further south so closer to the Antarctic ozone hole. My brother in law lived in Sydney for nearly 20 years and he noticed the same thing. Melanoma is a big problem here because of this.

Could it be higher humidity compared to AUS ? I love the heat but when it is combined with humidity it can be hard to take for long periods of time.

Yeah, David I am just on the other side of Lake Erie right across from you if I'm not mistaken. I'm about 3 miles from the north shore of Lake Erie. We seem to get similar weather storms depending on wind direction.

Rain here. My neighborhood is dirt roads and when I left for work tonight they were frozen over to all ice. Surface roads were o.k. They are calling for flooding tomorrow so hope it is not like what we had last summer.

Do they plow dirt roads ? I don't like ice.
