one of the joys of New England weather is the proximity to the ocean which is a vast reserve of moisture to feed storms.
hence nor'easter since he wind and moisture come off of he water. Mix in a little cold air and voila, snow
5-6 inches on the ground of heavy wet, snow ball packing snow.
had the low been slightly inland, we'd have gotten rain. but no it had to move out towards the coast a little more.

We got about 6-8 inches but have about 3-4 inches on the ground.
a wet slot developed last night and we switched back to rain.
it then got cold. so we have hard frozen yucky snow.

We had a winter a few years back were all the snow happened east of us in Vermont, mostly it hammered the cape hopefully this isn't another one of those years.

I would rather not experience Noreasters, or snow bomb (snow plus heavy wind) events if at all possible. We get our share of snow being the snow belt near the Great Lakes (Lake Huron mostly), that is more than enough. I'm a thin-skinned Canadian.

I'd like some snow. We've had a super dry fall this year in Loveland, CO.

^ have you ever been in a snow bomb event, that is when the snow is being blown horizontal right in your face and eyes at 50+ mph or so. Those are some crazy storms.
