Only 75 here today so far. Had a lot of wind yesterday and discovered we've had a small Totara tree blow down in the back yard. It's only about 20ft tall but it's a slow-grower so is likely about 30 years old. Looks like it had been rotting at ground level over time, and there was just enough wind to finally send it over. Happily, we found it had seeded another Totara immediately behind, so it's already planted its replacement.

Did he back that up with a number? Or did he just want you out of town with a day's warning?

Supposedly the polar vortex will be over us with temps 20-40 below and wind chills 50+ below.....we'll see. I think it will even be worse for Emil.

While the temps will be cold they are not expected to break any of the daily low temp. records. It is a short burst too, maybe close to 30 by sunday afternoon.
