a brief dusting and now it's mostly gone.
long term outlook is saying a lot of folks may see interesting weather as we get towards Xmas day followed by very cold arctic air.

It will be cold in Loveland on Wednesday and Thursday. Okay, even Friday.

This is not a normal Summer for us. Should be 80-90 degrees and sub-20% humidity most days. Instead we're firmly in the low 70s, it's rained for about the past week, and rain is forecast out past Christmas. Can't even get the lawns mowed, let alone make hay in the paddocks. Fencing backlog is piling up too, as you can see.

We got a light dusting of snow, maybe one inch, it rained a few days before that and it made for a bit of an icy base in areas that don't get traffic.

I took my WRX to my work parking lot today and did some figure 8's to get accustomed to how it works on the slippery stuff, practice makes perfect they say. The rear end kicks out under throttle so you can have some fun when you want.

Finally a blue sky today! I got out for a short walk with my camera after lunch. A few geese a few ducks, nothing all that special. However, since I can't really remember the last blue sky day, I wanted to get out there. Temps in upper 30's.

Our temperatures are going down, down, down. Heading into single digits by the weekend. We're not accustomed to such cold, so I'm dreading it. Today when I woke up it was 34 deg and the high will be in the mid 50s. I can tolerate that but those single digits -- no.

That is T-shirt weather for us Darlene. lol.

But this weekend I heard the worst words that one can hear in the winter season - POLAR VORTEX is coming. Some places further north could see -50 degrees, thankfully not my region.

We got our first real measurable snow in Central/West Central Ohio. As many of you have mentioned, the Winter storm coming midweek is going to guarantee a white Christmas for the entire Midwest. The temps.... -2 on Christmas morning, is not my idea of fun.
