Looks like we will avoid ice for the most part. A bit too warm. Lots of rain coming tomorrow, though.

Someone appears to have stolen New Zealand's Summer. Note these are Celsius termperatures, so it's not quite as horrible as it looks.

We woke up to a super red sky this morning around 7:30 am , something you might see at sunset in middle of summer, we don't usually expect it this time of the year. Nice day today but bad weather is approaching for tomorrow. We get a fair bit of lake-effect snow, I hope it misses us .

I have to express some disappointment.
Sunday we got an inch of snow. Barely.
I swear it's getting deeper instead of obligingly melting away.
Whiskey Tango Foxtrot??
MELT!!!!

Mike (tof) looks like some severe, possible tornados heading your way. Stay safe!

Thanks, Gene. Yeah, some tornadoes in Mississippi. We were under a couple warnings but I'm not sure anything hit south of I-10. Lots of wind and rain here, though. Probably headed your way. Keep a weather eye out.

We are getting freezing rain right now, we knew it was coming but this stuff is so treacherous, you can't even walk 10 steps without the high probability of falling on your rear end. Not much worse than freezing rain to coat every outside surface.

With freezing rain everyone tries to pre-treat it, but with freezing rain it always starts with normal rain just ahead of it freezing. That washes away most of the salt from the pre-treating. It is almost impossible to treat safely. I would much rather have a foot of snow than freezing rain.

It is the worst. The only thing that almost kind of works is dirt/sand. They treated the roads in my neighborhood early this morning with a dirt/sand/gravel/salt mix. Best thing to do is stay inside if you can which is my plan.
