My daughter & family were spared. Areas to the east of them lost power for 6 hours.

I'm waiting to hear from my Dad. I talked to him the day before the storm and he was all prepared. He is south of melbourne on the east coast so I'm assuming he is o.k. but will feel better when I hear from him.

Thinking about you, Val.

I'm no expert, just experienced. I think a thicker stand of trees is better. They tend to protect each other in a storm..

Just talked to my cousin who's up in NY for the summer, but has a house in Ft Myers.

Told me they have no power, some trees and debris down and all over, but the house is fine.

Re: Darlene (Val,) she just marked herself "Safe" on Facebook. So we have to assume she is fine.

Darlene, we hope you stay safe and you don't suffer damage to your home. This has been a real fluke of a storm to hook back around like that. I hope your little buddy doesn't get too scared.

I've been able to see some images of Sanibel Island on the news, that place got hit so hard, I can't imagine many people able to stay on the island without electricity and water and diminishing food. Few places were spared.
