I hope Ray already left for FL. Lewes is getting about a foot of the white stuff with the B word operative. For blizzard. My ex having moved there from Charleston recently will get a real welcome. Vito's mom in Little Ferry is getting a lot of snow but the winds will not be as bad as on the coast. Looks worse for you NE guys. You are BB, as in bullseye and blizzard. We are only getting 2-4" as it stands now. Good luck.

All of you that do your own snow removal I would advise that you don't wait until the storm is over to start cleaning up. It's not fun to be out during a storm but you want to get out there before it piles up.
I would lube up the shovels and snowblowers with some WD-40 ahead of time also. This is not a drill people

sit down, kids let me tell you about the blizzard of '22.... I'm wondering where the jackpot with 3+ ft is going to be.
They were talking about accumulation rates of up to 4"/hour in some areas with thundersnow. When that happens you can't see 100 ft away.

Yep! Expecting the Jackpot. Jim Cantore is in Boston. A weatherman from my sisters' area in SC has also headed to Boston. He's never experienced a blizzard.
Generator up and started, Kindle and Kindle Fire charged, phones charged, refrigerator has what we need. Doing laundry now, not much else to do but wait.
Grandson needs a ride home from school today as my daughter in law is working OT. Son's shift changed too, in anticipation of the masses at the grocery store.
It's crazy out there.
Patty this is not a fun storm, not at all. It's dangerous for sure. I well remember the blizzard of '78. It took us three hours to get from the west side of the city to the far north end. We were lucky we didn't end up stranded on the side of the road!

Hmmm. My next-door neighbor is planning on leaving tomorrow for a week-long ski trip to Killington. Looks like he may have to alter his plans. Last year he left early because it was raining most of the week.
However, in checking Google Maps, his route from here keeps him west of the heaviest snow, so he should be OK.

It will be interesting to see how much snow Killington actually gets, not much I expect.

If I had natural gas, I would have a generator but with heat pumps I'd need a big 'un. 20+ KW.
Otherwise keeping them fed with fuel is really hard to do.
If I backfed ( shhh) and trimmed things down to minimum I could probably get by with 7.5 kw.
I seriously looked at it last year, big propane based units were back ordered until mid fall.
