Lainey. Yes, the island is beautiful. We drove the west coast Monday passing through the town and villages. I was hoping for something more immersive, but we didn’t get it. So we thought we were stopping I. Canaries or Ane de Reissue? But drove past, stopped at a viewpoint then kept going, The 2 waterfalls weren’t anything special, and we chose the mineral bath vs mud bath. We had lunch at a restaurant overlooking the Pitons. I’m sure it’s a tourist one, as the tables had couples and groups, all with a driver with them. I would have liked something more local in town,

today we take a boat from the resort to three beaches to do some snorkeling,

Morris, I’m guessing on ship days, the market is bustling more than a no boat day, We stopped at in during our tour. Each vendor had the same touristy stuff, shirts, magnets, hats and towels, plus the assortment of chatchkes and things, The back of the market had fruit and spice stalls. Again, all with very similar goods. I don’t know if there nicer shopping in town.

We had taken a tour. Bus tour up to the volcano, smell the sulphur. Walk through the woods/rain forest. Pretty. Saw a waterfall. Ended on a beach where lunch was delivered. Nice. One final stop at another beach where some folks did some snorkeling.... We also took a helicopter tour. That was cool.

Of the islands we went to, that was the prettiest. With Aruba being the not so pretty island. Desert. The Dominican Republic was also pretty. What we saw of it anyway. We only took one trip away from the hotel with a tour guide/taxi driver. That was one island we would have left early had it been an option. The all inclusive hotel was nice, the food was not great, three of us were not feeling all that well, and the locals that stayed in the hotel over a holiday weekend, were the pushiest people. Oh and the airport....restrooms without doors, broken toilets. Felt like we were in a third world country.

They had said that we might get a few inches of snow out of the storm Saturday but didn't get any here. Read some reports of snow on some of the mountain tops and of course someone posted that the salt trucks were out in force.

Calling for snow overnight tonight, always makes for a pretty ride home from work. Very peaceful and no traffic at that time.
