Deb, that is indeed a spectacular photo! Thanks for sharing.

(I think more people will see it if you also post it in the Odds and Ends Vintage Photos thread. Just a thought.)

Ida came by us today. Estimates are about 10” of rain. Whole town is flooded and the mayor has asked everyone to stay in as EMS is dealing with loads of stuck vehicles already.. Tornado apparently touched or just massive winds near Washington’s crossing, about 5 miles from us.

living room ceiling leaking and the window well to the basement was filled and emptied into the basement,

I can’t imagine what the Delaware River will look like tomorrow or the canal next to it.

we never lost power, so that’s good.

hope everyone north and east of me doesn’t get hammered. Rob, did it come by you or Turn east towards NYC?

It's been pouring rain here, hopefully there won't be any flooding. We had very bad flooding the last week of July in the town down in the valley near me so hoping everything holds down there. When my landlord picked out the parcel to build our houses on they picked the highest area in the development so should be good here.

We fared fine although quite a bit of flooding in areas around DC. Vito talked with his mom in NJ (across from NYC) and she only had a little water in her basement. Very lucky compared to Sandy when Little Ferry was inundated and people were traveling by boat! So very happy to hear that.

I've been busy working the last few days so haven't kept up with the weather, my question is did they know this was going to be this bad? I remember when Irene was coming we were the only New England state not under emergency alert and then we got slammed.

After the drenching rain and oppressiive heat of the past few days that we've had, this song kept running through my head while walking the dog this morning under clear, cool skies.

That's a groovy song, man! I haven't heard it in a long time.

The rains came and went.
If my gauge is telling me the truth we got 4.45 inches of rain.
After this summer, I think our drought concerns are gone, well at least for a few days anyways.
