Hot here. We ran a couple of errands including having propane tanks for grill re-filled. While we were out the skies opened. Of course Rick had just watered the flowers in pots in the yard. We got home and not a drop of rain had fallen in our area and we were only about 6 miles from home. At least he didn't waste the water..........

Supposed to be more cloudy and cooler tomorrow.

We will bug out to Tallahassee if the storm track stays as it is now. Don't want to be on the east side of a major hurricane, even one with an eye that is 75 miles away.

Right now it is raining, thanks to a tropical wave that rolled in early this morning. It looks like a giant blob on radar. So far we have gotten seven inches per my weather station, with more to come. Another good reason to bug out. The ground will be saturated and the storm ditches will be pretty full. The kind of rain we might expect from Ida would probably flood a lot of local streets and roads.

We are just west of Gulfport...

Wise decision. Now forecast to be a Cat4 upon landfall. Rainfall and storm surge could be devistating.

Might want to head out soon so you are not trapped with thousands hitting the road. Better to be safe!! Good luck.

Moved our bug-out up to tomorrow, probably mid-day. Traffic may be heavy along I-10 but should not be brutal yet.
