This ONE is a true classic. It was shot in one take in the wee (not oui) hours of the morning in Paris.

Legend has it that the car was driven by a yet un-named Formula One driver.

If anyone knows the true history behind this please post it. As the information that was posted four weeks ago (on You tube) is new info since I first discovered this video a few years ago.

I am going to my comment about why someone would drive like that to avoid being late to meet a female?
I have seen this neat video before. Having been to Paris several times, it's to see the very recognizable sights that really have not changed that much. I am one of those that will always Paris!

(I don't think this route could be driven so aggressively now, though)

Gene ........... dump Bea and take me to Paris! I'll pay for the trip! Matt hates France and I will have to wait 'til he dies to go!

j/k
This is not exactly an accurate statement. I don't hate France. I dislike the French. I just don't get their disdain for Americans. If it wasn't for us they would be speaking German today.

The only time that I stepped foot on French soil my coworker and I were told to leave a sidewalk cafe because all we wanted was a bottle of wine. The waiter told us that we must order food. As we were leaving we had to walk all the way through the cafe, as they sat us all the way in the back near the kitchen, past about fifty percent of the tables that had no food anywhere to be seen just empty wine bottles.

P.S. Gene, if you would like to take the Plantpixie to Paris I will help her pack.

Matt, I was able to dig up the following Wiki article about the film. Also, the route is on Google maps.

Gene,

Thanks for the posts.

I had not seen this Ken Block video before. He does lend a whole new meaning to the words "car control". In this video he lends new meaning to the term "driving the wheels off of it" (literally).

I have found the French to be quite to the contrary. They have always been extremely nice to Bea and I, since we try to speak a little French. French waiters are French waiters. They seem to treat everyone with disdain! On the other hand, I have seen some Americans act the epitome of the Ugly American, and they deserved to be treated badly. After all, we're in their country.

Oh, and by the way, if it weren't for the French, we would still be a colony of England, due to their support of us during the Revolutionary War. Rochambeau

(End of rant)
