Besides, I have never been to Hamburg.
I've been there but only on a real train.

I have long been a fan of the song "Mack the Knife" made famous by Bobby Darin in 1959. Over the years I have listened to many renditions of this song but the the original is still amongst my favorites followed by Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald backed by a "Big Band". I cannot imagine what a thrill it must be to sing backed by a "Big Band" behind one.

Which performance of Bobby Darin's do you like best? The one in 1959 or the later one? Curious minds want to know.

The 1959 performance

Or THIS later performance

Which one do you like best?

P.S. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.

I have been away for the Thanksgiving holiday and I certainly hope that everyone had an enjoyable one.

I ran across this VIDEO of Steve Jobs giving the Commencement Address at Stanford University.

As Commencement Addresses go I thought it was a good one with some practical advice without all of the platitudes that many Commencement Addresses contain, that in the end say little but to perhaps prepare one for a life in politics.

I for one thought that he was trying to share the wisdom of age and experience with the graduating class of some of the brightest students as these are graduates of Stanford. But based on on the less than enthusiastic response that he seems to get from them, like me, do you think that his message fell on deaf ears or missed the mark of his target audience? It seems to me that the message the resonated with me did not resonate with them.

What do you think?

It seems that these "staged spontaneous" mass performances are becoming more and more popular to promote a product, service or organization.

As a former (international) "road warrior" I have to state that a performance like THIS would put a smile on my face. Especially since I dislike Heathrow Airport so much.

For those of you that have never experienced Heathrow, because it is so busy more often than not the plane cannot pull up to a jetway. Like Frankfurt Main they park the planes on the ramp and you are then transported to and frow on buses that seem to have the diesel fumes pumped into the bus.

This is not really cool and would probably classify as an 'uncool' video

This kids parents should have just bought him a PS3 and a GT5. While the video is a 9 minute lap around the Ring in an M3, the idiocy begins from the start.
