Yes, the US team had to come from waaaaaaaay behind. Many whole races and edited highlights videos on YouTube of the America's Cup and of the Louis Vuitton Cup that determines which team will be the AC challenger.

And for those who like the 'doing' as well as the watching, here is a boat you can sometimes find for sale (used) that weighs and costs many, many zeros less than an America's Cup foiling sailboat and yet feels very much the same in good winds (I own one; it's my 'other pocket rocket'):

Rave Trimaran Flying and Windrider Rave Hydrofoil (this video is a transfer from VHS in the 1990's; the image and sound begins about 10 seconds after the video starts to play)

As I sent to some of you via E-mail.

I have to admit that I was once part of this problem. Back in the 70's when American cars were crap from a "fit and finish" stand point I responded to the "Buy American" campaign with the following attitude: "Build something worth buying, and I might". The last American made GM vehicle I bought had a good drive train, but the finish was terrible. The carpet pulled away from the walls of my 77 Chevy G-20 Long wheel base van. The 1969 Firebird that I had before that had 3,300 miles on it when the trunk began to leak whenever it rained because of the fit of the back window. Throughout it's life, I had to replace the tail light bulbs and sockets about every three months because the leaks into the housing.

On the other hand, on my ten and half year old Honda S-2000 I have had to replace the rear license plate bulb ONCE. Short of changing the fluids on schedule, and one valve adjustment and spark plug change at 99,226 miles, it has been solid as a rock.

It is my understanding that American workers have responded to the global challenge, and got their act back together and are building quality products again. I sure hope so. But, the proof is in the pudding as the saying goes. Fool me once shame on you, fool be twice shame on me. But you will not get to fool me the third time.

Please watch this video – it is less than 4 minutes and please share
it as well. It is simple and to the point and is exactly the message
we need to spread across America.

That was really good (and I generally find look-back videos tiring). Thanks.

I think that this VIDEO helps prove that even "Vintage" folks can pull off a "Flash Mob" and have fun.

I am not sure if I would classify this VIDEO as cool. At first I thought it was a spoof, but it is a real product that one can order on line.
