^This is a short TV news report about 71 year-old Rick Hermlin, who's currently riding his ElliptiGO across the country to raise money for injured Marines. I met him last November at an ElliptiGO rally in San Diego. He's a neat guy.

A while back I was watching Andrew Zimmerman's show "Bizarre Foods" and saw the episode that this VIDEO CLIP (no pun intended) is from. Over the years I have always remembered the line from my child hood when I was reluctant to try new foods: "If you don't try it, how will you know if you like it?" The first two foods that come to mine that are now among my favorites, are clams on the half shell and lobster. I can only imagine how hungry the first person that ever ate either had to be to give either one a try? Over the years I have tried to live by the adage that I will try anything once. If I don't like it, I will not eat it again. I have alligator, rattle snake, ostrich, etc and even a live ant.
With that stated: I am impressed with Andrew Zimmerman's ability to have an open mind to eat some of the things that he does. Pig Snouts in Puerto Rico, fried larvae in Thailand, etc. Maybe we should start a thread about the "bizarre" foods that we have ingested? I have the feeling the S1997 or KGF have some interesting stories about some of the dishes that have eaten.

I think that THIS VIDEO is cool. I would have liked to participate in that rescue.
