Matt, I absolutely loved watching that video of Kenny. The look in his eyes after he ran that bike around the track is priceless, its that feeling why we race. In my opinion you gotta be nuts to race bikes at those speeds on the razors edge, so thrilling to watch though. I always make a point to watch MotoGP and AMA events when they are on Speed, its always great racing no chance for bathroom breaks when watching. Another event which I watch in pure amazement is The Isle of Man TT. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pZmTZ...eature=related

Matt, Back in the mid-70's I was in the Goodyear Motor Sports Club and obtained portrait drawing of all the greats at that period of time, including Kenny Roger's in 1975. Boy was he young looking then.... of course, we all were.

Charlie, I too love to watch the TT races. But since I hardly ever watch Speed any more because of all the NASCAR, I haven't seen it in some time.

Charlie, I agree that Moto GP is amazing to watch. As for The Isle of Mann TT, that is just over the top. Those guys must drink Noxon for breakfast instead of orange juice. As David Hobbs would state: "Those guys have larger attachments than I do"

Dave, I believe that you mistyped that name. We all look younger than Kenny Rogers these days.

I have a picture from the Daytona 200 in 1978 with Jim McKay interviewing "King Kenny". To get them into the same close up camera shot, ABC Sports had Kenny Roberts stand on a plastic milk crate (due to his short stature), compared to Jim McKay, who is not particularly tall, perhaps 5'10".

I remember the first time I pulled the front wheel off the ground on my bike.... trying to show off..

Scared the living sh*t out of me, like.... WTF do I do now!

But then.... practice makes perfect!

Mike, Remind me to tell you the story of how I cured myself from "popping wheelies" at SF. After that, it was power wheelies only.
