Actually that's a pretty good pace for the Dragon, Dave, for the majority of the drive.

The "telemetry" coupled with the video and GPS setup that she has is pretty cool. I wonder about that setup? Costs, etc.

On a different note: If one paid attention to her accelerometer that often registered about .75 G's, one can really appreciate that an F1 Car can corner and brake at 4 G's these days.
Yep. She's the one. On all the Dragon drives I went on, the locals were very good about pulling over to let us by. The worst, by far, are the Harley riders. We call them organic speed bumps.

One of the disadvantages of placing the camera further back in the vehicle is that the sense of the speed of the vehicle is significantly decreased. Another disadvantage is that the camera has the constant darkness of the interior to try to balance with the extreme lightness of the sky and the sun shining on the geographic features. It also has to struggle with what to focus on, if it isn't a completely fixed focus camera. I don't know the science of it all, but my short explanation is that cameras don't like that sh!t.

There are many disadvantages and advantages of that camera location. One of the advantages is you get to see gear changes, hand positions on the wheel, and all other activity in the interior of the car, which can be rather interesting at times. It also gives a better indication of the overall experience that the driver was having as far as view goes.

Lovely scenery there.

Truly an officer and a gentleman!!!! What a great guy, and his recall is incredible! One of the last of the "Greatest Generation". IMO, it is truly a shame that so many younger people do not know history.

Thank you. I only wish that younger generations had a better understanding of the effort and sacrifices that the generations before them made, this also includes the 1% of the population that is currently serving in our Armed Forces today. It is no longer a shared effort or sacrifice like it was back in the days of WWII.

My Father volunteered in the Navy during WWII and was fortunate enough to stay state side as a Diesel Mechanic. On the other hand, the Plant Pixie's Father was also in the Navy and wound up on Okinawa. Like many WWII Veterans he never talked about his experiences with his wife and two daughter's. I only discovered this after visiting with him, when he opened up to me as a fellow Veteran. We were driving home after a visit and I mentioned a story that he had shared with me. The Plant Pixie stated: What? I have never heard that before. It was only then that I realized that for scores that he had never shared his experiences while on Okinawa with his Wife or Daughters. I felt an uneasy honor that he felt comfortable enough with me to share them with a fellow veteran.

It really is quite a simple equation. When one is one year old a day is 1/365th of a time slice of our lives. When one becomes Vintage at the age of forty, (assuming one was born in 1975, which was NOT a leap year) a day now is only a 1/14,609 time slice of our lives. Therefore as we age, each day is a smaller "piece of the pie" that we call life. That explains why it does not last as long. Savor life my friends, Even though the pie gets bigger with each passing year, a day in our lives provides one with a smaller slice than the day before.
