REMEMBER THE BRIDGE
Bridgehampton Race Circuit
SCCA Inaugural Races, September 28-29, 1957
By Daniel F. Stanfill III
Rare footage of the Bridgehampton New York sports car track Grand opening in 1957. I have heard so much about this track, and this in car footage gives a superb feel for fast laps in traffic. One noteworthy piece is the aggressive driving thru tight corners that have the asphalt covered with loose sand. Quite impressive.

I have fond memories of races at Bridgehampton. If one thinks it was dangerous with the sand, especially if one put a "wheel off" one should probably not road race motorcycles there. It was being much a guaranteed "endo". (motorcycle term for end over end, but also doubles as a DNF for both bike and rider). Fortunately, my Production bike was not fast enough unlike the GP bikes to be weightless after the bridge going down the hill into T1.

When one (you) have twenty minutes to watch this VIDEO I think that it is worth the time as it has interviews with Astronauts about "The Overview". I think that it is interesting that it was a life changing experience for those that were interviewed in this video.
If I had the chance, and could afford it, going into space is on my bucket list. Now, all I have do to accomplish that is to win a lottery.
What are your thoughts? GIVEN the opportunity would you go into space to see the earth in a whole new way?

My fast run from today's autocross. Missed first in class by .072 of a second.

I think that this VIDEO of a U-2 Spy Plane flying at FL 70 thousand is pretty cool. I had no idea that they had both inside and out side rear view mirrors and surprisingly a "tell tail" (as in sailing) on the nose. I guess that must be a low pressure point to keep it getting ripped off at speed?
Note how deep blue the sky is when he is at altitude as well as the curvature of the earth of course. It must be quite an experience to fly that high? The highest that I have ever been is FL 43 thousand in a Gulfstream 4. With a tail wind that gave us a ground speed of 761 MPH.
P.S. I suggest watching this video in full screen mode at HD resolution.
