Val, I think we can now go camping!
A bit expensive, but this just might change my mind about camping: In British Columbia, Canada, the Clayoquot Wilderness Resort, a 30-minute boat ride from the town of Tofino, is offering "glamping" on a fjord on the west coast of Vancouver Island. Tents have Persian carpets, down duvets and even electricity. There's a sauna and hot tubs on site, and activities including fishing, horseback riding, kayaking, hikes and wildlife-watching.
Camping???

I don't know about CNN, but my sleeping bag isn't smelly.
Anyway, it isn't the sleeping arrangements that bother me about camping (now that I'm older and wiser), it's that other smelly thing, the outhouse.
How, do you suppose, these high-end experiences deal with that issue? HPH

You know, the idea of a lodge is not exactly new. I guess it was a really slow news day for CNN.
Tomorrow's lead: "These days people drive cars instead of riding horses!"
ps. Arcadia, Maine is "closer to home" than Vancouver Island? Guess I need to look at my maps again.... Oh wait, they didn't mean MY home, did they?

Come on, Lain, why do you think the boy scouts carry shovels? And where's your sense of adventure. I can see you and Val with your little shovels now.
I have NO sense of adventure when it comes to that kind of thing. Camping and outdoor living has absolutely no appeal at all to me. I have a difficult enough time using a port a potty at a state park if there are no other facilities.
Didn't you hear? I'm prissy and proud of it!
