Hmmm...

So I called my ex-coworker Ian today to get a sense if driving the southern coast was worth it. Absolutely... and he said check out the BlueNose II to see if its sailing that week. Apparently it's the second generation racing ship from 100 years ago.

Well- it's not sailing that week because... This is in town >> https://sailgp.com/races/season-4/ca...ifax/overview/

How many people travel and when they do see something unique and just find a way to see it? Looks like tickets are sold out, but.. there's plenty of hotels and spots it appears.

Time to check the calendars and see what else is there that week.

We've been planning a trip to Cuba for this summer, we were last there in 2022. We didn't take a vacation last year so we desperately need one now. We hope to be there in July, we love the hot weather and the ocean water is really warm in summer.

We are fully booked now so there is no turning back. We hope the Cuban people are not suffering too much, I have read that economic conditions are bad there this year, and worse than when we last visited. They need our tourism and the people are the most amazing aspect of the island.
We can accept many of the shortfalls you might endure there due to the economic conditions, it certainly isn't a cruise ship experience when it comes to food, but the food has always been decent and you never go longing for more food, always plenty to go around at the resorts we visit.

We will be taking lots of consumer products to donate to the locals, and lots of small bills for tipping. We will enjoy the country but we want to give back and support the local people who need it most.

We are staying in Cayo Santa Maria, the Iberostar Ensanachos resort with the Coral Village section of the property. It has one of the top two beaches in all of Cuba, and that is what we like most on our vacations, just a nice quiet clean beach for relaxation. We can deal with mediocre food that most people complain about, it doesn't bother us.

Yes Sir. We have been discussing this trip for a few months, but it is only official this week as it is fully booked now . So we are going. I had it held with a small deposit and a cancellation option, but we just committed to going this week . There was a chance that we might have to cancel as my wife's mother got unexpectedly ill, but we have chosen to go 100% now. .

Thank you, our vacations are mostly about rest, and sitting our rear ends on a beach. We don't ask for much.

My son is making noises about getting engaged.
I suspect a trip to Seattle in the next few months for an engagement party.
Wedding most likely following year.

Is this a surprise to you and Barbara or did you know it was coming?
