On our trips to Fla I have flown into Daytona Beach, Orlando , and Ft. Meyer's airports, all good experiences , very quick in and out of each of them.

Vacations 2024? Hoping for a Ft Myers trip to see family. Of course, if I go to Ft Myers, then I have to go to Jacksonville, so Amy can see her family...

Other than car trips (Spring Dragon, Marietta, Staunton, etc.), nothing really planned. 2025 is going to be the big year.

Looking to plan a cruise for her daughter's HS graduation. Amy finally closed her Dad's estate, so she can now change her name back (Dad passed away while she was married). She can now get her passport processed and we can leave the country! That opens up the opportunities... Canada, Mexico, cruises... heck, even Europe...

Leaning into 2025 a bit. We have been wanting to go back to Key West for awhile - one of our fave places. American Cruise Lines has just started a new cruise of the Gulf Coast of FL and Key West. It will be a catamaran again (first cat is our Hudson River cruise in Oct). We leave from and return to St Pete. Also visit Marco Island and Punta Gorda. KW for a couple of days. It will be our 20th anniversary in Mar so getting an early start on the celebrations.

We leave Thursday for the SC (Murrells Inlet) road trip. Family time. My local sister will be there along with my youngest sister who lives there, so will all be together. We will raise a glass to my other sister who passed last month and also remember the sister we lost in 2019 and my brother who passed last year. Our ranks have dwindled. We may get together with my brother in law, but not sure time will permit. He is planning to attend the 60th anniversary of his graduation from boot camp in the USMC. He has stayed in touch with his Marine Corp buddies. Oohrah!! He is obviously struggling with my sister's passing. The trip/reunion will likely do him good. My youngest sister who lives near him checks in on him and has been helping organize paperwork/financial stuff. He has two daughters, one lives nearby, the other in NC.

Went to Sedona in April. Have plans to visit New Hampshire in June and then Kings Canyon (central California, southern Sierras) in September. Hoping to also sneak in a visit to Mom in Florida soon as well.

Not a bad view in the parking lot.

.

Red Rock country truly is beautiful.

.

Jason cleaning off the bugs and road grime. The folks at the hotel were awesome, by the way. If you are ever in Sedona, the Arabella Hotel is truly wonderful.

.

On the hotel property, they had a spot where we could gather and enjoy the view as the sun set behind us and lit up the rock formations in front of us. Spent many evenings discussing S2000 maintenance with XViper (aka repiv, aka Dave Ko) who I swear still knows more than anyone on the face of this earth about the S2000.

Bummer. You have the memories, though.

Still, every time I go to Sedona, I am always amazed at the vividness of the color. The blue of the sky against the red of the rocks. And we had timed this so we would be there while the vegetation was quite green too. Everything was so mesmerizing. And the weather turned out absolutely perfect.

I was out in Sedona at least 30 years ago. At that time, I believe that we stayed in the first timeshare in the area. Now, there's many. I recall either driving down little roads looking for trailheads to start a hike, or looking at a mountain/peak and pointing and saying "that one". Madonna was one IIRC. I'd say I was in better shape then and hikes like that didn't bother me. My pics - probably in a box somewhere.

Now, we're prepping for NS/PEI in a few weeks. Since I have no need to get back right away, we're thinking of adding a few days, remove a little of the hectic nature, find a few more things or see, Maybe now drive the entire southern coast and stay one night down there. One of my old team lives in Weymouth, probably time to call him again for an updated itinerary.

We will be at the Durango Airport waiting for you when you arrive. We have plenty of cars here, so you guys don’t need to rent a vehicle, ok? The weather here in the Four Corners is beautiful right now ! See you on the 10th!
