Def should be on a list of places to visit if you have not.

I had the very good fortune of reserving a hotel downtown which happens to be right across the street from a soft serve ice cream shop. I love soft serve. Vito is now out walking around and has passed a place that sells all kinds of cobbler. Yikes…he is bringing me a small cherry cobbler. Thank goodness we leave tomorrow morning before I get in more trouble!
I never would have thought that walking around downtown Detroit was overly safe, perhaps they have cleaned up the joint ? I recall making some wrong turns in downtown Detroit very late at night and the advice back then was do not stop at red lights just keep moving when safe to do so. Being Canadian we worry about being around groups of people that have rates of high gun ownership. But I have been to a couple Red Wings games right downtown in years past and it was okay then.

I asked my nephew about that. He says he has never had a problem and feels safe at night downtown and riding the people mover.

Here come two posts with the last of vacation pics.
First up Cape Enrage.

Cape Enrage Light Cape Enrage is so named for the turbulent waters that pass over the reef which continues southward from the island for nearly a kilometer at low tide and the rough seas can be seen for much farther on windy days as the current and wind are in opposition.

Stairs down to the beach. Lots of stairs

On the beach

View on the beach. Notice the textures. Rocks, sand, different colors water, and on to the clouds and sky

Back down hill from the lighthouse this was the view of beach to the right of the lighthouse.

Turn around while viewing the water and another gorgeous view awaits.

Last day the town of Alma and into the Bay of Fundy Park.

Stairs to Dickinson Falls in the Park

Dickinson Falls - Fundy National Park

On the way to the fall, lots of green moss, the area is so moist and lush.

View in the park

Herring Cove Beach in the park

Alma - no kidding about the tides. In the Upper Bay of Fundy, the tidal range is incredible -- the difference in height from low to high tide is equivalent of a four story building. And all that water flows in just about six hours. Knowing whether the tide is coming in or out is essential to safely enjoy time on the shores.

Vessel at low tide. It will bob up when the tides come in.

Beach at Alma low tide. You can really walk out far at low tide. The kids show up with their pails and shovels, wearing crocs or other foot wear for the muddy sand.

Across the street is a glass atrium where what looks to be a Greek wedding reception is going on. They have been doing the napkin dance and the money dance. Last bit of entertainment before we leave town.

Little delay here but getting home about an hour late. No problem. Having BBQ with nephew and family later today. Their movers have packed up so they are at a hotel now. Leave next Mon. Really going to miss them but it will be an excuse to go to the country of Jordan for a new adventure.
