How is the food there? What have you been eating?
Safe travels tomorrow!

Hope you had a good trip, Dave. Our Canada road trip starts Saturday. Weather not looking too great at this point, but at least we won't be dealing with 100 degree heat.

You and Rick have a safe trip too Lainey. I’ve been out driving the last two days and am seriously considering strapping on a helmet next time I go out.

No fun in the sun yet. So we are looking for things to do. I have two days planned for nice weather and we might get lucky and get those two days. Meanwhile, I'm happy to have the internet to do some research. Tomorrow we may try for a couple of coastal stops, though we are expecting mostly cloudy and showers again. Maybe lunch in a little village.

Our first stop today was Moncton, New Brunswick. They have some of the largest tide changes. When the tide comes in, it comes in like a wave. Cool to see, but not quite as dramatic as I thought it might be.
You can see it on this link: Tidal bore

We also went to Magnetic Hill...It's a cool thing to experience. A nice young man took a video of our car rolling up hill.

We were also not that impressed with the tidal bore, after sitting through the nice lady's presentation in both French and English. My pictures of the tide running backward:

Lainey- Where are you headed next. Lots of wineries/cideries in the Annapolis Valley/Wolfville area. Small towns but not "that small".

We stopped in the same location to see the difference. We thought about tidal bore rafting but chose against it.

Gary, that area is three hours from where we are. We aren't into wines, but we have stopped at a few wineries over the years. They often present some lovely photo ops. We are in Pointe du Chene headed to Bouctouche tomorrow on what will be the first sunny day of the trip. We are really looking to see some scenery (in the sun) and get some steps in. Thursday is another lousy day and Friday looks good, hoping to get to the Bay of Fundy National Park.

Today was a real wash out, not just clouds, lots of rain. We headed out anyway. Drove along the coastline a bit, made a couple of stops. We were looking for a lavender farm, just because I saw it on line; who doesn't want soap that costs $7.00/bar? We passed a little purple shed that was in the correct location but no signage indicating they were open. Right next door was a distillery. Neither of us drinks hard liquor but we stopped. It's on a potato farm and they use the potatoes to make vodka. They even had some other types of seltzers and beverages made with vodka. I purchased a can of lemonade blueberry vodka type drink, a soap made with potato juice (good for the skin they say), and we sampled (and purchased) a bottle of martini espresso vodka or something like that. Rick and I both sampled and though I don't care for coffee flavoring, it was pretty darn good. Might be very tasty over some ice cream/whipped cream.

Tomorrow's destination
