Joy and I are looking at a trip to Scotland in the back half of 2017. We're still doing some research, and we have to see what the work schedules might vaguely be.
Couple of threads from our trip to Scotland not long after I met the +1 (2005). A few pics in each. It was wonderful - such a lovely country. And we looked so young!!

Lovely! We are looking at a Scotch tasting tour as main piece of it, then getting some other sights in. However, Joy's work has been , so we'll see if we need to stay connected the entire trip or not.

While on my last business trip to Scotland, I was staying at a golf course hotel.
I went in the bar and got a Macallan neat. At first the price seemed reasonable i.e. less than exorbitant.
I just didn't realize the serving size was a dram.
barely got the bottom of the glass wet.

This is the barge they took. Looks like a dream of a trip!! The barge holds up to four people (two cabins). They raved about it. It's more expensive than the Canada trip we took, but might be as nice or even better than that one.

Just returned last night from a week in Madrid, nine days in Morocco, then another week walking around Granada, Seville, Ronda and Cordoba. Wonderful trip, but good to be home. Also spent time in NC for a wedding and a couple days in Boston, so was gone for 4 weeks.
The 9 days in Morocco we were with a guide who is Muslim. We peppered him with questions, and it was interesting to see another side of that faith, countering the fake Muslims that are terrorizing the world.
It was also amazing to stand in a mosque/church that was built in 875AD. Note that the date has only three digits!

Sounds like a great trip, Morris/Dean.

I have a friend who is supposed to head to West Palm, FL on Saturday for vacation. I don't see that happening. My two sisters in SC are not far from Darlene/Val, they too have decided to stay put.

Our area is not going to be impacted by the storm. Hope the folks in the path of this mess stay safe.

Working on condo rentals for a month in Tucson, as in 2014....maybe a little longer.

Likely that I will drive the Prius both ways again....maybe solo on the return trip??? Last time the "southern route" worked out well...until that ICE STORM hit the Little Rock area

Does anyone else do the "snowbird thing" ?

I watch the snow birds (dark eyed Juncos) in my yard. That's the extent of my snowbird activity.

Hope those headed to warmer climates during the winter months think of me. Still working and still freezing my tail off.
