Looking to book an early-2017 marathon. Likely Charleston. My wife and I are picking off the states, and we have not done SC yet.

For the runners out there, what is your favorite marathon?
My first full is in two weeks so I can not speak on a full, however I have done many halfs that have fulls attached to them so I would say San Francisco is my favorite with Rock-N-Roll Las Vegas with a close second.
What marathon are you running? Are you tapering right now?

Kind of tapering. I have been building over the past few weekends and have been getting stronger each week even though I am going longer. This weekend I am cutting back to 14 down from the 20's. I also have been working on my fueling. I will get that narrowed down this weekend.

Here's some absolutely unsolicited advice: It sounds like you are starting to taper. It is important that you do. Not sure what training program you are using, but don't over-run it. You feel very strong right now. But tapering helps preserve your body for late in the run.

Really looking forward to hearing how it goes!!

Perhaps we should start a "running" thread so we stop hijacking the "vacation" thread?

Probably...I don't think most would consider running a vacation.

Yeah, we do, too, since they are not just for running. We always go somewhere where we can do other things/visit relatives.

Planning for the Great Eclipse, likely in Charleston. Laurie and I have never seen Charleston and its been on the bucket list for a while now.

Couple of threads from our trip to Scotland not long after I met the +1 (2005). A few pics in each. It was wonderful - such a lovely country. And we looked so young!!

Lovely! We are looking at a Scotch tasting tour as main piece of it, then getting some other sights in. However, Joy's work has been , so we'll see if we need to stay connected the entire trip or not.

Had dinner with friends last night who just took a barge trip in the south of France. It looked wonderful.
