Jerry: My Dad is 85 and my sister lives next door. Plus, my son and family just moved to Ohio a year ago. We were gone over 30 years and probably should not have come back here. It would be hard and selfish to leave now. Also, that 16th move would be a dilly. If there were no impact on others, Oregon, the Carolinas, southern Virginia, and perhaps the Villages in central FL would be on our short list.

Thanks Emil....it's very basic but most folks find it charming/ cozy. It was built in 1920 and we've been going there since 1974. We bought it from our friends in 1993...only the second family to ever own it Here's the inside:

Yes, I see that you're there for a while, John! When my MIL passed in 2006 at age 92, our last parent was gone.....kids on their own: All of a sudden....no more reasons to definitely stay here in Philly area anymore

In addition, we have lived in the same small community for almost 34 years....and have only moved 3 times in almost 38 years of marriage While we've traveled a lot, I've never (except college) ever LIVED outside of Peeay

Now that the taxes are done, one of my next non-working tasks is to develop some 2-3 year scenarios for us (seems I said that elsewhere....sorry if I'm repeating ) I think that we may be heading towards the 5-1/2 month/ 6-1/2 month rotation mentioned by someone else.... Once I get the scenarios figured out, maybe I can post a simple version of them....see what reaction I get from

I'd like to find a very small cottage on a lake within a couple hours of our present location.... like Jerry's or smaller. I'd like a warmer climate place for a couple-three months during the winter in addition to a nearby place (maybe after my +1 retires). Just need about 20 more days in row, like today's, in the stock market! From what I've heard these 2-3 month places in FL and the like are not really all that expensive and you've got no ties to going back.

I have no desire to pack it all in and head to some other state permanently as we have too many friends, relatives, and interests right here....... snow or no snow. I certainly have no desire to go anywhere near Disney or any places like that!

Last summer we purchased a horse property at about 5000 foot elevation. It is in a small town northeast of Phoenix. The weather there is 15 to 20 degrees cooler than here in Phoenix. We are still working on setting it up the way we want it, but we plan to spend lots of time up there this summer.

It borders on the national forest, so we can ride horses (or ATV) right off our property onto the national forest trails.

Interior shot of the sunroom (back part of the house) when we were still doing the flooring and had lots of furniture stored in the sunroom

Lots of potential there, John. Is it in Payson?

^^ Yes, it's in Payson.

John told me about it during our visit, but it looks nicer than what he was describing to me I thought that it was a modular.....and maybe it is?

I would like to look around more in AZ....maybe next Jan/ Feb....if I can talk Kathy into taking some time off
