In modern times there's no doubt that the Aztek wins the "Hit with an Ugly Stick" contest.
I never thought of the Nash Met as ugly........ heck, it used an MGA 1500 motor (slightly revised one with no tach, etc.). The Pacer was the ugly duck from that company that jumps to my mind.
IMHO most American cars made in the 70s and 80s were ugly and dogs to boot.

BMW Isetta.
After the war the BMW factories lay in ruins, because they had been used for manufactoring war materiel. The German economy was not yet up and running by the 40s and 50s. Most families were happy just to have one motorcycle in the family.

The Isetta is generally credited as "the car that saved BMW". They made enough profit to stay in business long enough to survive the post-war years.

I've always liked the looks of that car. Its the plain Jane girl with something special. You have no idea what it is but you can't take your eyes off her either.
I've always loved the turquoise and white color combination. Aside from the fact that I think it works, I think it perfectly represents the 50s.
And, most important, it was a small car when everything else was too damn big. I like small cars.
