Default Tour de France 2012 (spoiler)

Wiggins was fast, especially in the second half of the short Prolog course, but the smoking Cancellara was again the man of opening day, with a 6.13 second quicker time. And Cadel Evans was a big disappointment at the end. Radio Shack starts out with a win in the Prolog, despite the cloud that hovers. The broadcast coverage starts at 6:00 am MDT on the NBC Sports Channel for the next three weeks. I'm ready for this one. I'll be watching.

Cancellara is toast once they hit the mountains. I like Wiggins but a 10 second lead over Evans in a short time trial is insignificant. Todays stage is flat so I expect the sprinters to dominate.

Nasty crash in within the last couple of kilometers today. Cancellara and Cavendish were both down, but Cancellara retains the yellow jersey. Tomorrow is another sprinters day!

Didn't see it today, too much going on celebrating the 4th. Hope to watch the replay tonight after kids/grandkids finally go to bed. Thanks for the update as I am sure I will fall asleep. Too much beach time and party tonight to watch the fireworks.

^^ Great footage of the 1953 TdF in HD & Color!! The vehicles were awesome, and the riders were wearing the old wool jerseys and no helmets.

Thanks for posting the link, Jerry.

Wow, lots of flats because some moron threw tacks on the course. One rider got injured and is out and Evans could have lost a lot of time but Wiggins did the right thing and waited for Evan's group to rejoin him. Nice Sportsmanship as I think Wiggins is going to win and not waiting would have been a field day for the critics.

I enjoyed that old 53 footage. You got'a love the sportsmanship shown after some ass placed tacks all over road.

Wiggins should win barring a crash. One more chance in tomorrows mountain stage for 2nd & 3rd place guys but Evans is done. Very impressed with TJ (6). 23YO American who has a bright future.
