We had 99.7% totality. it was interesting for about 2 minutes. Glad it's over with and with everything we had to do at work today related to the eclipse, I got absolutely NOTHING productive done today. I have never said it was a useless day at work before, however today was.

Hmmm...a useless day at work? I have many of those....

I was watching some of the eclipse coverage and wishing I was outside checking it out vs inside stuck at my desk, though as mentioned it wasn't much of an eclipse here.

Patty, I'm glad you and your daughter got to experience this together! Hope you both enjoyed the trip!

Nothing exciting here. We were supposed to have a 80% eclipse but I barely noticed any darkness. Guess I will have to wait another 100 years.

We are still together, on a plane, stuck on the tarmac. We were supposed to depart at 7:10 pm. Lightning, wind and rain kept us grounded. We deplaned once, got back on and are stuck at the gate. It's 10:30 pm.

The sun emerging from of totality. Photo was taken through a high bank of cirrus clouds.

Hope you finally made it out, Patty. It was clear here for the eclipse but clouds rolled in shortly thereafter and we had rain.

Yawn. At least here on the North Coast where we had a claimed 84% coverage. If it wasn't for 3/4 of my office staff standing in the parking lot with those funny glasses and welding helmets I wouldn't have noticed anything out of the ordinary. It was probably kool where there was complete blockage but... Don't wake me for the next one.

Hype (is it safe for your dogs to be outdoors?) was almost to the point of the change of century to 2000 hype 17 years ago (when folks filled bathtubs). At least then those of us who knew the first year of the new century was not January 1, 2000, but 2001 could feel a little smug and have two parties. Only one eclipse. Even the very real digital GPS roll over was deftly handled by the Air Force with no hype.
