Default TOP GEAR IS COMING TO AMERICA!

NBC has ordered a pilot based on Britain's high-octane, car-themed reality series "Top Gear" from BBC Worldwide America. The show will be based out of California and at the moment they are in the process of casting for the show's host. NBC is hoping it will be as successful here as it is across the pond.

I can't wait!!

Forget that!! The hosts and the format are great as they are . . . just rebroadcast the UK show. We are big boys & girls and can handle a little American car bashing.

I know, I wish they would too. I don't get BBC any more now that I've moved There are TONS of videos online though so I've been getting a fix

It won't be the same but I hope it's still decent. I'll give a fair shot. Top Gear = Best Show on TV!

Anyone remember what happened when they recreated "Coupling", which, by the way, was an excellent show from the BBC?

I fear the worst.

Call me a skeptic, but if it's a remake, I can trust the NBC executives to completely strip the original show of its charm.

All those hollywood guys know how to do is ruin great shows. Remember BBC's Junkyard wars? It was great because it was simple and natural, also cash in the attic, they killed them both with glitz and phoney theatrics. The only one that is still going is What Not To Wear and I still prefer the British version for it's simplicity and down to earth naturalness.

Oh yes! Junkyard Wars the original was AWESOME! With that guy who played the robot on Red Dwarf I watched all those... the newer ones just got weird

Dave, you just like the BBC version of What Not To Wear better because Suzanne likes to grab other women's boobs
