Ya, don't you miss the tinsel trees of the 50's? Tinsel blowing around the house, getting wrapped up in the vacuum, getting tied up in the dog's tail, etc. Ah, those were the days.

I never liked the tinsel..........back in the day it was THE thing needed on the tree, or so we were told. I think Dave dug that picture from the days gone by of someone...........

For sure! My mom was the queen of tinsel. She did an amazing job of applying it. Looked like sheets of ice hanging from the limbs.

My mother loved her tinsel. It was real aluminum tinsel and when it was time for the tree to come down we had to pick every piece off the tree and put in back in it's package.

Sounds like our mom's grew up in the same period of time. You didn't want to put that real tree out by the curb with any tinsel on it. And I recall having to save what you could for the next year!
