Default Time for a new top............

Looks like the S will need a new top in the Spring. Rick noticed a couple of pin holes yesterday and an area where it is wearing. He had some of the "tear aid" tape on the inside, and it has held, but a new top is now on the list.

I know a few of you have gone the new top route, some more than once. (Raymo?)

What did you buy? What kind of $$ are we looking to spend?

Rick has some connections in the auto biz, but information is appreciated.

Sorry I didn't bother to search for previous threads.......bad Lainey.

I went with the Robbins for both replacement tops. The last one is holding up really well so far. I particularly like the size of the glass wear window.

Robbins soft top will cost you between $600 - $700

I will suggest, just get a Mugen Replica Hardtop, it will cost you $1300 shipped with hardware but there is no worries about getting rips and all that. Its a one time investment.

Best of all, you can still go topless when you want to and will have your soft top and hard top.

For me, thats the best solution

Thanks, but NO interest at all in a hard top. We drive top down unless it's raining or temps drop below 50. The S is a summer car only.

Lainey, my top has a short wear spot that I could see light through, on the driver's side. I talked about getting a new top but my friend out here, Kent, told me to buy some black Shoe Goo. I got it online and he put it on the inside of the top for me. It's worked great.
