Time to go for a walk!

Lainey, Jerry and I did two laps around Lake Rancho Santa Margarita on Saturday night. Yesterday I bought Saucony Progrid Omni 6's. I hope they help lessen the foot pain.

I only took about 1/2 hour walk on Saturday, but I was pushing a baby carriage for a little resistance. It really was too hot to walk, so I didn't head out once the kids went home. Yesterday we had rain. Today I might push the lawn mower around for a bit of exercise and maybe we can head out for a walk after dinner. It's still not very nice here today. Cloudy and low 60's.
Let me know how you like those sneakers.
I bought my first pair of New Balance before our first trip to Vegas which was in 1999 I think. We walked a LOT that week, and my feet never felt better vs compared to using other sneakers for walking. I've stuck with the same style sneakers since. You also have to keep in mind that footwear does not need to be worn out to need to be replaced. Once they start to loose support, I often notice my feet and legs are more tired after a walk.

Yeah, I know about that. I had bought two extra pairs of running shoes when my back told me to never run again. So I've been using them and another different pair for the past three years on ellipticals. I was over due. These Omni's seem good but the right heel seems tight. I hope it doesn't give me any problems.

I make sure to replace sneakers just about every year, they rarely show signs of wear, since they only go out in good weather months. Patty, you exercise a lot more than I do....you might want to replace them more frequently, and as John mentioned rotating shoes is not a bad idea, either.

^Good idea. I used to do that, when I ran. I have yet to get back into my regluar workout routine, since I moved, but if I find out that these new shoes work, I will get a back-up. (I haven't used them yet ) Whenever I find the perfect shoe, it's "upgraded" the next year and it's not the same price or the same exact shoe.

BTW we are waiting for you to report in on your doc visit about the possible RA.

Didn't read all this but I too am a New Balance fan. Use 844's for walking ($110/pair) and I replace them every year. Just think how big my beer gut would be if I didn't walk once or twice daily.
PS I also like to drink a lot of Gatorade to keep my fluids up. "Frost" is a good one.

Is everyone still walking regularly for fitness sake? I walk two miles a day early in the morning after my swim at YMCA.
