Rob- have you ever seen an IRS letter that didn't give the taxpayer at least a couple weeks (if not 30 days) to respond? What's so urgent that a client must call you on your cell? They can wait till business hours the next day. If they waited till the last minute, that's their problem.
I only give my cell phone number to a handful of people. And I don't have it on all the time anyway. It's just training your clients (or your bosses). My office voicemail is available 24/7, but I'm not!

I am taking some time off of work. Drove up to NYC last weekend for a family visit. Drove back to MD with my niece (13) and nephew (10) for a week with his older cousin and us. 10 year old nephew is a math genius. Can recite all the Yankee baseball players' statistics on their average, how much money they make and how tall they are. Billy Graham crusade was the biggest news in NYC this past weekend. Traffic was snail pace in and out of NYC.

Jerry,
I wish it was as simple as you make it sound. Perhaps for you it is.
Before any of us had a cell phone, our colleagues and clients accepted the fact that they couldn't reach us. Now, because we have a cell phone, they assume we are always available.
When I turn mine off I end up getting arguments about not answering the phone. You try to explain to an irate client why your cell phone was off when he got that letter from the IRS.

Usually 9 to 5 when its normal but when the shit hits the fan there is no start and stop unfortunately for IT people but then again it could be worse. I have a lot of flexibility but would rather work at the office away from home to get things done.
