How'd you do that? I'm impressed.
The Barracuda on the right was moved with a floorjack, about 10" from the wall. The Silver S isn't mine, but one I'm working on. It also doesn't have a Cylinder head, so it's not going anywhere on it's own. I rolled the silver car all the way forward, and as close to the wall as I could get.

The Yellow S is mine, and not about to be left outside for Hail or Hurricane. I folded the mirrors and drove it in untill the back tires where inside the garage opening. I squeezed out of the door, and left the window rolled down.

I then rolled it in the rest of the way by the rear wheel, and reached inside to yank the e-brake.

I load a 2 car attached (20'x24') garage with 4 cars. The almost 14 ft. 911 gets jacked up on either side w/ a rolling floor jack; 4 caster 'roller skates' (heavy plates contoured to the tires) go under the tires.
That gets rolled sideways across the back.
Then, 2 full size cars are backed in to either side of the garage. The 'backing in' is a key ingredient to ease of entry (the steering front end does all the pivoting!)
Then the MX5 goes into the middle slot. Of course, that must be removed before the others.
The clearances are about 6 inches with 10 inches to exit the MX5.

(Comment: I don't concern myself with what the neighbors think.)

Wow...I'm impressed with Slows2k's and verynice's strategy for getting the most out of the garage space!

I feel lucky. I have space for 5-cars (2 heated). But times were not always so good. I used to dismantel my covered back porch which allowed me to roll the MG in and then I installed temporary blue board insulation around the 3-outside walls. I used to take me about a week to do it all but it was neat looking out the family room door at the MG when there was a deep snow everywhere else.

I too have stored 3 cars in a 2 car by rolling the sports car sideways using a floor jack. We do what we have to to protect our toys.

I have stored cars outside for a winter as a last resort. I do not recommend it. I used a very heavy car cover with a huge tarp on the ground underneath with lots of mice poison everywhere. I did this for a restoration car in process; otherwise, I would have found good inside storage off site.

[QUOTE=Slows2k,Jul 31 2005, 06:49 PM]I've done it, but it's not to practical to work around. i had to do this to get all the S's out of a Hurricane.

Sweet!!!

I've had my 64 since I was 15. It needs a large $$ and time infusion. (some inner fenderwells wouldn't hurt either)

You guys are great. I don't know how you do it. I have trouble getting two cars into a two car garage. They're not big cars either, an S2000 and a Civic.

Its the accumulation of "stuff" that takes up all of the space. Worse still, the "stuff" seems to grow. We go through it every year and get rid of more than I thought we had, but by the next year we are always right back to where we started. The "stuff" seems to grow on its own.

Only a few small differences. the 64's had "Valiant" on the right rear corner, a different dashboard and the pushbutton trans (if it was an auto)

Mine was a 273 2bbl 4-speed car, now it's a 340 4bbl auto.

You may not believe it, but in front of all the cars in the garage, there are 2 transmissions and 1 differential for the Barracuda. And a trans and diff for an S2k.
