They're called G-RODS
They're roller skate wheels. I was looking for some new ones for my skates and came across these.
Who here has roller skated?
Who here STILL roller skates?
These are mine:

I went to a skating party for my granddaughter. I was a good ice skater and played a little hockey but I did ok on the roller skates. I tried ice skating a few months ago and my old hockey skates have shrunk or maybe my feet have grown since I used them 25 years ago. My big toenail hurt like hell afterwards and turned black. Then if fell off. I have retired the skates.

Went last year for my granddaughter's party. It had been many years since I skated. Pleased to report I didn't fall. Also, I was only one of a couple of adults who tried it and I was the oldest one out there.

....and pictures to prove it, nice!!!
I actually enjoyed the skating. I keep meaning to find out when they have an open skate so the granddaughter and I could go again, but now it will have to wait a while, due to the shoulder healing thing....

It was about 18 years ago. I was in San Diego working at Navy Special Ops and over a weekend rented some skates at Mission Beach. So these two nice behinds go by heading north. I follow and follow and follow and end up in La Jolly (sp) totally worn out. The behinds kept heading north, and I take my wasted legs and feet back to Mission Beach on a city bus. I must not have learned much that day, because the next day I damn near drowned trying to surf.

Have you learned any lessons since then?

+1 didn't think either of the events were funny, but in retrospect they were. Well, I did learn it doesn't pay to get run over on a motorcycle by uninsured illegals. And, don't downshift to 2nd in the S on exit ramps in the rain. I'm sure there are other lessons learned, but I'm getting old and my memory has become more convenient.
