And I just found this version:

Dubya got run over by a reindeer
Walkin' 'round the White House Christmas Eve.
You can say there's no such thing as Santa
But as for me and Ashcroft, we believe!

He'd been drinking too much eggnog
The Oval Office, full of puke
Making crank calls to the North Pole
Had to calm Vlad Putin down so he won't nuke.

When we found him Christmas morning
Condi Rice screamed, "Oh my Lord!
There's a puncture from an antler!"
And Karl Rove said, "You mean, the man was Gored?"

Dubya got run over by a reindeer
Walkin' 'round the White House Christmas Eve.
You can say there's no such thing as Santa
But as for me and Ashcroft, we believe!

We're so very proud of Jenna.
She's been taking it so well!
See her in there drinking highballs
While Laura sprays a can to hide the smell.

Cheney needs the Oath of Office.
Is he dead or just asleep?
And the thing that's really scary
Is that Jeb says he's entitled to be Veep.

Dubya got run over by a reindeer
Walkin' 'round the White House Christmas Eve.
You can say there's no such thing as Santa
But as for me and Ashcroft, we believe!

Missile defense is on the table
And the cutting of the tax.
Bad economy? Bah, humbug!
Unemployed men can enlist up for Iraq!

We've asked all the Secret Service
"How could Santa get so far?"
We'd like to blame this on Bill Clinton
Or the ghosts of JFK and FDR!

Dubya got run over by a reindeer
Walkin' 'round the White House Christmas Eve.
You can say there's no such thing as Santa
But as for me and Ashcroft, we believe!

Sing it, Poppy!

Dubya got run over by a reindeer
Walkin' 'round the White House Christmas Eve.
You can say there's no such thing as Santa
But as for me and Ashcroft, we believe

"Happy Christmas" John Lennon

So this is Christmas
And what have you done
Another year over
And a new one just begun
And so this is Christmas
I hope you have fun
The near and the dear ones
The old and the young

{Refrain}
A very merry Christmas
And a happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one
Without any fear

And so this is Christmas (War is over)
For weak and for strong (If you want it)
For rich and the poor ones (War is over)
The world is so wrong (Now)
And so happy Christmas (War is over)
For black and for white (If you want it)
For yellow and red ones (War is over)
Let's stop all the fight (Now)

{Refrain}

And so this is Christmas (War is over)
And what have we done (If you want it)
Another year over (War is over)
And a new one just begun (Now)
Ans so happy Christmas (War is over)
I hope you have fun (If you want it)
The near and the dear one (War is over)
The old and the young (Now)

{Refrain}

War is over
If you want it
War is over
Now

Seriously, one of my favorites, by Charles Brown:

Merry Christmas baby
Sure did treat me nice
Merry Christmas baby
Sure did treat me nice

Bought me diamond rings for Christmas
I feel like I'm in paradise
Be at my side
I got music on my radio
Feel my vibe
I got music on my radio

I feel like I'm going to kiss you underneath the Mistletoe
Santa's coming down the chimney, half past three
All those pretty presents for my baby and for me

Merry Christmas baby
Sure did treat me nice
Treat me so nice
Bought me pretty presents
I feel like I'm in paradise

Merry Christmas girl
Merry Chrismas baby
Merry Chrismas baby
Sure did treat me nice
You know you do
Merry Christmas baby
Sure did treat me nice
I got a lot of pretty presents
I feel like I'm in paradise

Merry Christmas baby
Merry Christmas baby
I feel like I'm in paradise
In paradise
Merry Christmas baby
Happy New Year
Merry Christmas baby
Merry Christmas baby
Merry Christmas baby
Merry Christmas baby
Merry Christmas baby
Happy New Year

One more by Charles Brown that makes the holidays for me:

"Merry Christmas, Baby"

Bells will be ringing the sad, sad news
Oh what a Christmas to have the blues
My baby's gone I have no friends
To wish me greetings once again

Choirs will be singing "Silent Night"
Christmas carols by candlelight
Please come home for Christmas,
Please come home for Christmas
If not for Christmas, by New Year's night

Friends and relations send salutations
Sure as the stars shine above
For this is Christmas, yes, Christmas my dear
It's the time of year to be with the one you love

So won't you tell me you'll never more roam
Christmas and New Year's will find you home
There'll be no more sorrow, no grief and pain
And I'll be happy, I'll be happy, once again

There'll be no more sorrow, no grief and pain
And I'll be happy, happy Christmas, once again

I never got to see him, but I love all his recordings, especially "Pretty Paper." Must have been great to see him in person.

Or maybe this one.

"Crying" Roy Orbison

I was all right for a while, I could smile for a while
But I saw you last night, you held my hand so tight
As you stopped to say "Hello"
Aww you wished me well, you couldn

Heard this "driving" song yesterday while out Christmas shopping:

"No Particular Place To Go" (sung by Chuck Berry and others)

Ridin' along in my automobile
My baby beside me at the wheel
I stole a kiss at the turn of a mile
My curiosity runnin' wild
Cruisin' and playin' the radio
With no particular place to go.

Ridin' along in my automobile
I'm anxious to tell her the way I feel,
So I told her softly and sincere,
And she leaned and whispered in my ear
Cuddlin' more and drivin' slow,
With no particular place to go.

No particular place to go,
So we parked way out on the Kokomo
The night was young and the moon was bold
So we both decided to take a stroll
Can you imagine the way I felt?
I couldn't unfasten her safety belt!

Ridin' along in my calaboose
Still tryin' to get her belt unloose
All the way home I held a grudge,
But the safety belt, it wouldn't budge
Cruisin' and playin' the radio
With no particular place to go.

Chuck Berry, one of the greats. Here's one of my favorites.

"Sweet Little Sixteen" Chuck Berry

They're really rockin boston
In pittsburgh, p. a.
Deep in the heart of texas
And 'round the frisco bay
All over st. louis
Way down in new orleans
All the cats wanna dance with
Sweet little sixteen

Sweet little sixteen
She's just got to have
About half a million
Framed autographs
Her wallet's filled with pictures
She gets 'em one by one
She gets so excited
Watch her look at her run

Oh mommy mommy
Please may i go
It's such a sight to see
Somebody steal the show
Oh daddy daddy
I beg of you
Whisper to mommy
It's all right with you

Cause they'll be rockin on bandstand
In philadelphia p.a.
Deep in the heart of texas
And 'round the frisco bay
All over st. louis
Way down in new orleans
All the cats wanna dance with
Sweet little sixteen

Sweet little sixteen
She's got the grown up blues
Tight dress and lipstick
She's sportin' high heal shoes
Oh, but tomorrow morning
She'll have to chang her trend
And be sweet sixteen
And back in class again

Cause they'll be rockin on bandstand
In philadelphia p.a.
Deep in the heart of texas and 'round the frisco bay
All over st. louis way down in new orleans
All the cats wanna dance with
Sweet little sixteen

The Everly Brothers showed up as a surprise at the Simon and Garfunkel concert last night and sang Wake Up Little Susie, All I Have To Do Is Dream, Let It Be Me, and Bye Bye Love, the last one with S&G and the audience singing along. Fantastic...One of the best concerts I've ever been to.
