Pat Boone... there's a name I haven't thought of in a long time; never did have any of his records but then I didn't have Kookie's either.

OK, Lets see if anyone can get this one right? Who wrote the song "One is the Loneliest Number" that was a hit for the Three Dog Night? (fairly easy) and what does that person do for a living now?

"Till Then" The Classics
Till then, my darling, please wait for me
Till then, no matter when it may be
One day I know I'll be home again
Please wait till then
Our dreams will live though we are apart
Our love will always stay in our hearts
Till then, when all of the world will be free
Please wait for me
Although there are oceans we must cross and mountains that we must climb
I know every gain must have a loss, so pray that our loss is nothing but time
Till then, we'll dream of what there will be
Till then, we'll call on each memory
Till then, when I will hold you again
Please wait till then
Till then, my darling, please wait for me
Till then, no matter when it may be
One day I know I'll be home again
Please wait till then
Our dreams will live though we are apart
Our love will always stay in our hearts
Till then, when all of the world will be free
Please wait for me
Although there are oceans we must cross and mountains that we must climb
I know every gain must have a loss, so pray that our loss is nothing but time

"Last Kiss" Frank Wilson & the Cavaliers
Well, where oh where can my baby be?
The Lord took her away from me.
She's gone to heaven, so I got to be good,
so I can see my baby when I leave this world.
We were out on a date in my daddy's car.
We hadn't driven very far.
There in the road, straight ahead ...
The car was stalled, the engine was dead.
I couldn't stop, so I swerved to the right.
Never forget the sound that night ...
The cryin' tires, the bustin' glass.
The painful scream that I heard last.
Well, where oh where can my baby be?
The Lord took her away from me.
She's gone to heaven, so I got to be good,
so I can see my baby when I leave this world.
Well, when I woke up, the rain was pourin' down.
There were people standing all around.
Something warm running in my eyes,
but I found my baby somehow that night.
I raised her head, and when she smiled, and said,
"Hold me darling for a little while."
I held her close. I kissed her our last kiss.
I found the love that I knew I would miss.
But now she's gone, even though I hold her tight.
I lost my love ... my life, that night.
Well, where oh where can my baby be?
The Lord took her away from me.
She's gone to heaven, so I got to be good,
so I can see my baby when I leave this world.

This song remains one of my favorites. I believe it was popular in 1963 - the year I graduated from high school.
Listen to the rhythm of the falling rain
Telling me just what a fool I've been
I wish that it would go away and fall in vain
And let me be alone again
The only girl I care about has gone away
Looking for a brand new start
Little did she know that when she left that day
Along with her she took my heart
Rain please tell me how can that be fair
For her to take my heart away when she don't care
How can I love another when
My heart's somewhere far away
Listen to the rhythm of the falling rain
Telling me just what a fool I've been
I wish that it would go away and fall in vain
And let me be alone again.
These lyrics may not be exactly correct and there may be more. I think the song was sung by the Cascades.
