Jet sitter

A friend of mine just told me that his wife and him booked a two week tour of Egypt last month. I would expect there has to be a way to get out of this. Does anyone know (Legal Bill) if he has any way of canceling this?

they are allowing people to cancel. Should be relatively easy. Where in Egypt was he going?

That is unfortunate, but I am sure they can get their money back. At least they were not there when this mess unfolded.

If the State Department is advising against travel, maybe that would factor in? Hope they can work something out.

Trip insurance is never a bad idea, but you have to cover the various possibilities for cancellation when buying the policy.

I must say I've often thought of Pas2k since this eruption in Egypt occurred. He timed his travels to Egypt very well.

The travel agency has cancelled all travel to Egypt for the month of February. My friend is patiently waiting for them to cancel March. I was scheduled to go with my wife to Egypt just before the first Gulf war broke out. It was a company conference and it included "behind the scenes" visits in museum's plus a trip down the Nile. I was living in Morocco at the time and we received word from the State department to get out of town. I spent a month back in Connecticut, waiting for things to cool down.
