Default Summer's almost over!

Summer is almost over. There are still a few meets to enjoy. DBR, The Tomcatt run and FC07. Before long, many of us will be covering up or storing our S's.

So, what's on the "to do" list after the summer fun is over? Do you go away somewhere warm for the winter? (Question does not apply to Patty/Patricia or dean, and maybe Raymo and a few others. ). Maybe you sit on a Caribbean Island and forget about the rest of us? Maury? Do you travel and visit family? Do you continue to work because you're not retired yet, and grumble about working AND the winter weather? Maybe you tackle some house projects you've put off because you wanted to enjoy the summer top down weather.

So, what will you be up to, once the S is "sleeping" for the winter?

Sorry, I don't plan as far ahead as winter.

S-related, the Tomcatt is next (test drive of the route tomorrow!), then Fall Colors. The S will be put away by mid-November I think.

Not S-related, the job situation is still in flux, and we have to find someone to fix up the back yard lawn (no way I can find time to do it myself).

What? SUMMER'S ALMOST OVER? Say it ain't soooo, Lain!

Looks like I missed it and will have to make up for lost time on somebody's island somewhere when I can travel again. But I won't forget about my friends and family, you can bet on that.

(whispering incredulously) Summer's almost over?

Golly gee! Somehow I think the winter will be much like the summer -- back-breaking house projects and me bitching about having to get up every morning and go to work 25 ft from my bed at an absolutely great job that I wish I could retire from!

On the up side, we think the kids (and therefore grandkid(s) ) are visiting this winter! Yippeee!!!!!!!

After seeing how clear your roads are in the dead of winter with freezing temps (I'm still amazed at ice-free roads and sidewalks at -28 F), I could see the S staying out in the winter. You could always wash the salt off.....no wait, the water would freeze more than just the trunk shut , wouldn't it? The top would be frozen in place too. Okay, forget it, put her away when the time comes but not a minute before.

Perhaps with global warming, you can keep it out longer than you think.

It's almost gone, Granny.

I love the weather this time of year, but I'm not too fond of what's to come. We'll enjoy two more car meets, VT this weekend, and VA in October.

After that, it's time to get some things done. I called my "painter man" and asked to be put on his "dance card". Time to rip off some wallpaper that's been on our bedroom walls a long time. I'm going to if I have to look at it much longer. Of course that means shopping for new stuff, which I don't enjoy, but it's time.

Time to do some clothes shopping too. Always fun for the vertically challenged.

After that, I think I'll just hide until it's time for SF08!

Anytime the temps get above 40 degrees F you can wash off the salt. The roof has to stay up, as it is not advisable to bring it down or up if the temps are below 50 degrees F.

I think LaNinya will have more to say about our temps for this winter.

More work on the Healey 3000. Is everone tired of hearing that yet? Imagine how I feel about it!
