We attended an event at the Gilmore Museum near Kalamazoo, MI. Certainly one of the best car museums in the country. They were currently highlighting station wagons and had some beautiful examples.

This is the 1948 Packard Woody Wagon.







This is a 1934 Ford Station Wagon



This is a 1989 Chevy Caprice Wagon, exactly like the one my wife used to haul our three kids in.

This is a 1956 Pontiac Station Wagon plus a resort sign next to it. I can relate to this one ... my family had one, but not a station wagon, as soon as I got my driver's license I got use it on Sundays (only Sundays) and did what most 16 year olds did then ... I street drag raced it.

Grew up with wagons as that's all my parents had. Still love a good wagon, sadly getting much harder to find now.

'00 BMW 528 wagon which she still has, believe it finally turned 100k miles a couple years ago.

I grew up with Pontiac Bonneville station wagons. With four kids, my brother and I the youngest, we always had the back where we could sleep on the long drives, and my sisters always had the seats. I vowed to never buy a Pontiac after we had multiple issues with the 1971 wagon.

I loved my 1991 Honda Accord Wagon, my 2011 Honda Crosstour wagon and my current 2015 Crosstour wagon.

I have great memories of sitting in the rear facing third row as a kid in the Oldsmobiles, though it could make me a bit nauseous on occasion. Lol. Back then with 5 kids a wagon was the only choice.

Mt grandmother had a Caprice sedan but got in a minor accident and bashed up the front a little.
My dad bought a wagon with rear quarter panel damage and a bad motor basically for the nose.
But before he could get around to swapping the noses, my grandmother traded her car in for a new car.

My father looked at it and decided the wagon was salvageable. He got yet another damaged wagon, pulled the quarter panel and swapped the motors.
Frankenwagon was born. My dad used it to commute in and out of Boston. Basically a bondo beater, he never got around to finishing it up before he passed away.
